Volunteers Needed

As always, we need more volunteers to take a turn giving tours of the cave on Sundays, pulling weeds in the restorations, maintaining the trails and other visitor amenities, and so forth. But right now, we have a very important slot to fill: Jan Breyer, who has been our “tortoise keeper” for quite some time, will be gone in August and expects to move back to the mainland next year. She shows up faithfully early every Saturday and makes an effort to find and note the location on our maps of every tortoise. She also checks all the fences to make sure there are no breaches.

This is a very important (and fun) job. It could be done any early morning or late afternoon. Anybody want to do it? If so, please notify Mary Werthwine at (480) 225-5604. Jan can help train you if you would like to take it on. The tortoises will be most grateful!
