Got Poi?

Sure do! The kalo lo`i (taro pondfields) at Makauwahi Cave Reserve provided the material for poi pounding demonstrations this week at the Reserve for the field trips we hosted for about 50 participants in the Ka`aha Hula `o Halauaola (4th World Conference on Hula) which was held on Kaua`i this week. Pictured is Kali`a Mayer. Mahalo to her and to Hena Caberto-Raco for providing this fascinating cultural demonstration. We’ve been eating lots of our poi ever since!
